PHILIPPINES: Marikina residents return home.
Residents of Marikina have gone back to their homes after the water level in the Marikina river has dropped from a critical level.
From the 25,174 individuals who stayed in evacuation centers on Friday, only 1,175 have remained.
Those remaining are also expected to troop to their homes on Sunday.
The local government of Marikina implemented a mandatory evacuation of residents near the river on Friday, at the height of tropical storm “Falcon”.
The nonstop rains since Thursday brought the level at a high of 18.2 meters. It is now around 15 meters and continues to go down.
Students are also expected to go back to school Monday.
